Thanks for the follow that worked for you. Has been true to me that vintage of Ford relays were either perfect forever or constantly questionableMad Aftermarket relay (universal vs the OE) also failed without warnings or provocation? Still have that vintage Ford products and carry a spare.

If same and stuck some respond to a whack on housing of relay OR if not luck and a couple tools for the ones with a specific fit skirt you can use an A/C relay for the fuel pump to get to where you can do it right but have to cut that skirt off or away or it will not fit. Haven't done it yet but housing states they are the same relay action. Emergency only not done yet so have the spare myself. You do what you want,

I was unable to get an old style 4 pin relay that worked. Napa ordered me 4 of them and we tested them in the store, they were all bad. Another auto store ordered me one and it too didn't work

I can almost guarantee that you didn't have 5 bad relays in a row. What you probably had was a parts company trying to say one size fits all and those relays were just different.............. and then it's possible they didn't even know how to test them.

True HT. At these exact ones since 1991 on vehicles from the 80s. Both Echlin and Filko aftermarkets fit all and all worked right away. At least three didn't last a whole year and almost no miles of good use. No other problems with a known OE vehicle? Who knows what or why sometimes? Still, 5 bad ones if right away is near impossible IMO, T
