need help with wiring on my 98 mazda 626

need help with wiring on my 98 mazda 626 Sign In

I have a 98 mazda 626 that iv tryed to install an aftermarket radio. i have an amp and now have the speakers working. but im having trouble with the power wires. if i hook it up correctly (red to red, yellow to yellow) it wont turn on. but if i connect the the 2 reds to the yellow coming from the radio it comes on but it has no memory. anyone have any ideas or similar problems? thanks

It should have 2 power feeds, one that is keyed and one for memory that is powered all the time

thats my red and yellow wires. the red is the ignition and yellow is my constant. but if i plug it up the way im suppose to it does not recieve any power. iv got to connect my 2 reds to the yellow constant coming from the radio to even get power.

The stock radio harness has blue/red as your hot all the time and blue/white hot when ignition is on. Yellow/red on the stock harness is for the power antenna. This is where a lot of people short stuff out and blow fuses. Always check your circuits with a multimeter or 12 volt test lamp to see which wires has what before connecting anything.
