2002 Ford Explorer Sport 2WD 4.0L SOHC 6cyl. 67132 miles 4 months ago my left rear brake and left rear turn signal light went out.I tested the bulb by putting it in the rear right brake and turn signal socket. The bulb worked through all stages Pressed the brake pedal and it lit up,turned on right turn signal and it flashed on and off, turned on parking lights and it lit when brake pedal pressed and flashed when turn signal on.Next I replaced the turn signal flasher and everything worked great.Pulled into driveway today and my son noticed that my left rear brake light is out.Tried my left turn signal and it also was out.So.. I tested the bulb again the same as before and the bulb works good.My turn signal indicater sounds normal so I replaced the turn signal flasher again but this time the brake stop light and turn signal are still out.The bulb lights up when I turn on the parking lights but thats all.The bulb is good ,the turn signal flasher is new.The reverse light works good.but the rear left brake light won't come on when brake pedal is pressed and left rear turn signal wont come on.Can anyone tell what else I might test or check to correct this problem.Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

The turn signal and brake lamp use the same filiment on the lamp. Check to see if you are getting 12V to the socket when the turn signal is on. Could be a faulty socket or the multifunction switch. My bets are on the socket. (Check the ground on that socket, too). Loren SW Washington
