interior lights on

I have a 1997 Lincoln Town Car and last night after starting the car the interior lights stayed on. I shut the car off and the lights stayed on. They stayed on all the time I was driving. About 15 min. later they went off. I restarted the car this morning and they were ok. I should mention that earlier in the day I had lost one head light so I had both replaced.Could this have caused the problem?

A maybe explanation: Is it strikingly cold and suddenly where you are? If so, perhaps the switch at the door handle/lock mechanism OR if you use touch pad keyless entry is frozen and took a while to thaw out.
I doubt very much it has anything to do with headlight replacement,
