It is normal for the lamps to dim when the headlamps are turned on. However, with that being said, you may have a charging system problem. If you aren't able to adjust the brightness, have the charging system tested. They should all dim at your request and now try testing if they dim more or less playing with that adjustment which just might self correct the issue for now too??
