saw an issue here recently about a ground problem...can't find the post im thinking of tho...anyway it reminded me of some interesting problems that we ran into years back...
you know in real estate its location,location,location--in automotive its,grounds ,grounds,grounds.
back in around 93 we had a 92 caprice come in with a brake pulsation at stop;abs light on steady,2500 miles on it (approx),customer complained about a brake pedal pulsation at times while stopped and the abs light coming on.
codes set for front and rear speed sensors,1 frt and the rear. i think 25 & 35...ran thru flow charts,tested everything,no problem found.cleared codes,road tsted,all,ok could not duplicate concerns.foreman noted that when making turns the signals would flash excessively fast at times.finally after several road tests,it occured,
he shut off the signals and everything ceased and went back to normal.
turned out to be a shorted turn signal flasher causing an electrical backfeed that made the hydraulic modulator valve for the abs pulse,this caused the brake pedal to move up and down while stopped with signals on.
it was caused by the signals and the abs sharing a common grounds.
