This being recently fixed from accident, battery light, slow power window and now this are probably all related. Sheet metal + paint may be all fixed but plenty more can be damaged. Is the other vehicle's insurance paying or paid for the damage so far? Even if it was on your own insurance this would/should fall into "unseen" damage. Rules and laws on that vary so check.

If totally not involving insurance and you fixed the damage on your own just recently I'd go back to that shop. Damage of the sort isn't necessarily on any standard list of what can be broken,

You can replace the cluster as you were instructed was the problem. The price sounds a bit high. You should be able to buy a reman cluster from the dealer for somewhere around $400 and it only takes a few minutes to replace.

would you know if the cluster would go out from getting hit in the front.
the car was parked and the other car came from the other direction right into our car. so would that cause the cluster to go out.
and could it be something as simple as a loose wire or fuse.instead.

Those clusters go out all the time. They don't need a reason.

If you have a scan tool with the option, you can do a cluster output test. It will test the IPC gauges, lamps, PRNDL display, and do a segment test for the DIC and odometer.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
