Very cold here -5 F when problem started. Need a good place to start looking for answers. Heater blower fan motor will not shut off. Can shut car off (key switch, and remove key) Blower motor still runs. I unplugged the power wires to the blower motor so battery won't go dead ( this killed power to motor). Is it a relay or a short circuited wire???? Any help would be great!!! Thanks!!! Just had one today (1990) that turned out to be the ignition (electrical) switch. (not the key/tumbler) Funny, but it had the same symptom...blower motor would not turn off. It turned out to be the heater blower motor resistor. GM calls it a module. It's mounted just below the relay/fuse block that is on the firewall, and bolted into the heater box. Retails for $260.00.
