i have a 2000 olds intrige with 3.5 littre v6. my problem is no matter what is in the gas tank my gas gauge will either shoot up to the full or shoot down to empty. it has to be electrical but ive checked the fuses. any help?

For what it's worth - a couple lately have had similar (not exact) issues (erratic readings and one with erratic fuel pump operation as well) and the connector at the gauge near the pump was the problem. Just the slightest corrosion can cause issues at the plug ins themselves,
