electrical problems-grandprix won't start...DEAD

I have a 2003 pontiac grandprix with 60,000 miles on it. While i was sitting in the car waiting for someone i played the radio for about 7 mins.[car not running]. When i went to turn key on...it was dead[no noise whatsoever]. I got a jump and rode around about 1 hour and a half then turned it off. It was dead again. Lights and powere windows don't work either. Can u help me diagnose the problem??
Repair Update- my friend put in an alternator and guess what...same problem....i guess i'll try the battery next!
 Got new battery and it started right up....[he had checked old battery with tester and it read 12.4 v. and the indicator on the battery was green]. This was quite a mystery!

Educated guess: A 2003 car may still have its original battery and that's plenty old enough for surprises like that with an old one as they can just up and quit just like that. The fact that the jump/boost worked till you shut off is encouraging but may have been hard on your alternator - can't know yet.
If bat is orig just toss it for new - it has to go. If done already it needs to be charged and can be tested - then other testing will be fruitfull. It could just be a bad cable connection which seems popular here lately,
