Hi, Second time poster here :)
I have a 2001 toyota echo (2 door) with about 100K miles. No major problems, just this annoyance. The door ajar warning is no longer working when the driver's door is open. I also notice that the dome light does not work when it is in the door position (when either door is open). The dome light does work when it is in the on position.
So, it seems that the car no longer knows that the door(s) are open. I tested all the fuses under the hood and the fuses under the steering wheel. Am I missing any?
Any ideas?

The dome light are energized when any of the switches are grounded so you likely have one shorted to ground
Here is the wiring diagram
