we have tested both of the coils and it's the wiring going to one of the coils is not getting fire but we switched the coils and they both fire of one of the wires but the other wire will not make them fire

There is no way to test an ECU. The way you condemn one is by eliminating everything else first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

the problem is we checked both of the coils and they're both good but one of the wires that plugs into one of the coils is not telling the coil to fire, i don't know what to check for next. i'm stumped does the front ecu control the coils

OK, the way this works is the coil receives constant power and the ECU pulses ground to fire the coils on the Black/yellow and Black/green wires. The way you test these signals is using a noid light bulb, never an incandescent bulb. You will need to test for pulse on that wire both at the coil and at the ECU to determine if the wire is OK. If you can positively determine that there is no signal leaving the ECU, then you can pretty much condemn it.

It won't like a test light or noid. The ignition primary circuit uses two transistors. One is in the PCM and the other is in the ignition coil. The PCM's transistor is used to trigger the other transistor in the ignition coil to control the firing of the coil. The signal that is produced isn't enough to light up a test lamp. You need a scope to see the signal. Peak voltage on the circuit is around 4.5 volts. You also need to make your voltage checks at the PCM connector itself. You could have a short or open in the wiring between the PCM and the coil. If you don't see a signal, you need to check your cam and crankshaft sensor inputs. If the inputs look good, you have good power and ground to the PCM, but you see no signal to the coil after verifying your wiring is good is when you condemn the PCM. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Should I dumb it down? PCM is only $1000-$1700 w/o programming it. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

How do I dumb it down? A transistor is basically a solid state switch that uses a small signal to control a greater amount of current. Much like faucet in your bath tub. Now sit down children. It is story time. The name of this story is called making cookies (spark). Once upon a time in transistor land a transistor, named Fred who lives in the the brain building (PCM) was bored and hungry, so he decides to make a phone call to Betty, another transistor, who lives inside the cookie factory (ignition coil). Betty makes yummy cookies (spark) by operating an oven (transformer). Both Fred and Betty love talking to each other. Fred doesn't have to yell over the phone, but only has to whisper for Betty to hear him. Fred asks Betty if she could turn on the oven because he is hungry and needs to feed his four kids (spark plugs). Betty gets the message and immediately turns on the oven to bake those famous scrumptious cookies. As Fred hangs up the phone, Betty turns off the oven and there are some hot cookies all ready to eat. Nummmm Nummmm....
