Evnin' Hope someone can help. I have a 1989 chevy 1500 (k) with a 305 4x4 auto. pick up that has approx. 150 k . The brake light ( on dash)came on without warning the other day. I checked and replaced the fuse . After that the hazards , back up, and turn signals went out. I replaced all the flashers , took the colume apart and checked the harness, replaced the brake switch, and replaced the rear right bulb panel, took out all the wiring to the rear and redid the whole harness with fresh wire. I now have all functions (EXCEPT) directionals. I have to admitt , that when it comes to electrical, I have no patiants at all. So for me to have done all this so far , it's a freeking merical. I find it easyer to empty a clip into it. But I kinda like the truck . Thanks in advance , DannyD

You may have a bad flasher or directional swithch. If you turn the directional on, and the light on the dash comes on solid replace the flasher. If you turn the directional on and nothing happens on the dash or the outside lamps, suspect a switch.

Thank you Steve , You hit the nail on the head with that one. I had replaced the flasher earlyer and went all the way around it ( because it was new). I desided to double check everything (again) and that's when I saw the #'s on the flashers were off . With the correct flasher , they work just fine. Thanks again, DoubleD
