1990 Toyota Camry 4-cylinder 190K miles

Twice lately I've had these indicator lights on the instrument panel come on and then go back off after about 10-15 minutes: "brakes", "charging", and "lights". The brake fluid level is fine, and the handbrake is off. The battery terminals are clean. The lights were off the entire time. I've driven the car 5 or 6 times in the last week, and this has now happened twice.

I've started looking for these lights as soon as I crank the engine. Today they were off. Then later (maybe 2 miles) they were on. Still later (maybe 7-8 miles) they were off again. This is similar to what happened the first time except that I didn't know to check when I first cranked the engine.

Do I have a computer problem? Whatever it is, it's clearly intermittent.

thanks

Several months back the "brakes" light came on by itself. The fluid was down to the "min" mark, so I filled it up to "max", and the light went away until this odd behavior started. I suspect that this is unrelated.

Although those lights are basically unrelated, I have seen many Japanese cars light up multiple lights when there is an alternator problem. You will have to catch it while the lights are on and check the charging system during the failure.
