I have a 1986 winnebago motorhome on the chevy p30 chassis. The alternator belt broke recently and was replaced. since then I have had problems with lights. The running lights and headlamps will not work. fUSES ok new switch fitted. I f I have the beverage tray lamp on then switch on running lights the tray lamp goes out and THERE IS NO VOLTAGE AT FUSE INPUT. After a few minutes the light will come back on and I get a voltage reading of 13.5 at fuse input, turn light switch or turn on courtesy light and the same thing will happen again. HELP ???

These or any motor home regardless of what chassis its sitting on are an electrical nightmare. I don’t think I’ve ever seen lighting wired the same on any two units, unless maybe the same person did the wiring during the conversion.
If they have a format as to how Winnabago or whoever wants the coach wired to the original chassis’ harness, I don’t think it’s followed very closely. From what little I’ve worked on them, they seemed to be wired to make it work and forget about any uniformity.
All I can suggest is to go clean and tighten any and all connections you can find.
Maybe pull the fuse panel(s) down and check the back of the panel for any burnt or overheated terminals. The same goes for the switches; with all the extra lighting that is spliced into these things, it may have overloaded the lighting circuits and melted a switch?
