hello,
i have a 97 chevy astrovan with a 4.3L, the "check gages" light turns on while driving, the oil pressure gauge drops (there is oil in it) and then returns normal range when the light goes off! anyone have any ideas? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance

That warning is not for amusement. Good that oil is in range but if oil pressure drops out it's game over for that engine so get that checked at once with mechanical pressure tester and don't drive it at all with the pressure below norms. That extra 1/4 mile might just cost you a few thou or more!!!!
