I have Renault Laguna 2004, 1.8 litre 16V engine, 5.40 litres, mileage: 90,000km The battery was flat, tried to start with another car battery using a lead, I made a mistake in connection which I correct immediately the battery sparks, so I started d car, allow to run then move got to my destnatio, switch off, remove the card, parked for about 5 hours, then by the time I got to the car I insert the card, but the card reader will not read the card, so ignition light did not come on, car refuse to start.

Not sure what you mean by card. We don't have that vehicle here in the states, so no service information to understand system design. Have you had the battery tested and made sure the battery connections are clean and tight? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Renault Laguna 2004, uses a Plip remote control Renault Card, once the card is inserted into the card reader, dn you press the start / stop button instead of car key. I've retighten the battery head after cleaning the head.

Did you have the battery tested? Need to have it load or conductance tested to be sure it is good. Otherwise you'll be chasing a ghost if the battery is bad or has poor connections. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Hate to tell you this, but that is far as I can go. Don't have any service information on that vehicle to see how the ignition and starting systems are wired. This forum primary deals with vehicles in the states. I'm imagining the card reader tells the engine controller or some other module to allow the starting system to operate. You may need to have it towed to your mechanic unless you can get hold of service information and the proper equipment to troubleshoot it yourself. It's possible something was damaged when the polarity was reversed during jumping. If you could provide some wiring diagrams and theory of operation, we might be able to help you troubleshoot it. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
