car unlock problem	Sign In

I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. My wife drove to take the kids to school this morning. When she started to leave to pick them up, the remote key would not unlock the car. She tried the spare and it would not unlock the car. Niether of the keys work lock, unlock, or panic. No lights flash nothing. I cant get the car unlocked to pop the hood and check the battery. Any ideas?

Dose the key unlock the door or is the key less entry the only way?

keyless entry only way in.

HMMM unusual problem. I don't think I have ever encountered a key less entry that doesn't have a separate key to access the car. Lock smith could let you in in a jiffy. I would check the batteries is the remote before doing that tho. Although both batteries going bad at the same time would be odd.

Thanks for the help last night. Called the dealer this morning and it turns out that Chrysler put out a recall in December for this problem. The remote keys are defective. The keys just stop working for some unknown reason. Chrysler will replace the keys and reprogam at no charge.
