This morning my wife told me that the lights were on on my 93 Chevy G20 van, so I trotted out and checked to see if I had left the lights on,but no, that was not the problem, so I pulled up on the brake pedal and the lights remained on. With the battery being almost depleted, I removed it and hooked up on the battery charger, and I am pretty well convinced that the B.L. switch is the problem, so I removed the panel under the steering heel and went to looking for the B.L. switch, finally located it but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to remove it, it is mounted on a bracket and the plunger faces the brake pedal, so when the pedal is depressed the lights come on.
Anyone ever pulled one of these things out before, if so could you please give me some pointers????

You're lucky, you have the easy model.
Those are just a press fit into the clip, some may have a retaining nut on the shaft of the switch, if so it needs to be removed 1st. Disconnect the wire & the switch may need to be unscrewed so as not to damage the holding clip. The new one would just press into the clip until it bottoms out on the pedal.....
Some of those switches just get loose & slide back a bit and cause the lights to stay on. I would see if you can push the old one back in. If you can than of course you are going to need to be sure it's secure and won't come loose again or you will just wind up with the same problem.....

It's so hard to see under there, but I'm going to re-attempt to remove it right now.

Well Sidom,
You were absolutely correct correct, I pushed on the rear of the switch and the lights went off. Now comes the problem of securing the switch so it does not move again, or I will constantly be looking over my shoulder to be sure the lights are off. Do you think some zip ties, one on the top and one on the bottom of the switch would hold the switch in place ?

If you can get one in there where it won't slip down on the bracket and stay in place, that should hold it...
I'm drawin a blank on this model to any tricks I used, I'm sure if anyone has any good ones they'll post them...
