auto electrical problem

I have a 2001 pontiac sunfire 2.2 w/ 130000 miles. The brake lights began coming on automatically without the car running. I believed it ran down the battery so I replaced the battery and brake light switch. It started and ran one day then battery appeared dead next morning. I removed new battery and alternator and had them tested. Everything checked out O.K. so I replaced ignition switch. It started and ran fine a couple days then it wouldn't even turn over. I tried to reset the vehicle anti theft by leaving key on for 3 ten minute intervals. All warning lights came on and stayed on when the key was off. I disconnected the negative terminal, reconnected and tried again to reset the anti theft. All warning lights are off except the check engine light but it still won't turn over. Any ideas?

You're doing everything wrong here.

Your brake lights had nothing to do with the ignition switch so by messing with that, you messed up Passlock

Go back to the brake light switch and see if the rubber bumper that it lands on is gone. Recharge and test your battery.

Thanks for the advice. There was a piece of loose tape on the pad. I'm recharging now to see what happens.
