blowing the ecm i fuse while driving now

blowing the ecm i fuse while driving now Sign In

1998 chevy 4x4 3/4 ton pickup 5.7 vorteck engine about 100.000 miles now blowing the ( ecm-i fuse ) just by turning ignition key .motor turns over but no start. an kills the ecm i fuse .

Holy cow!! that is the biggest fuse box I have ever seen. Bet it came from a huge car.Wink

thanks this does help me . so one or more of the injectors are shorting out.i'll unplug all retest with a new fuse to see if fuse blows again . I crank over motor then plug one injector at a time to test each one till a find bad one. thanks for the picture

Loren - What can I tell you? I went by a burger joint and it said "Super Size It" so I didCool

Didn't mean to do that pic so big - it just came thru that way - puter has been funky all day?

I just looked at it and thought it might show directly??

Thanks for the help . great pic I was able to see it from across the room . the injectors tested good .but found bad coil pac that caused the short . which burned out the ecm-i fuse. thanks again every oneCoolyou made it fun|

still having problems .the fuse is not blowing at the turn of key anymore cuse of new coil pac fixed that, but drive 5 miles then fuse burned up again I wonder if the control module gone bad to. good at the start untill it module gets hot. just thinking i'm not having fun now.Pirate any other idea's or other solutions?Crazy

gasman; When you said that the control mod. fixed it, I just kind of 'dropped' out. Was looking at the wiring diagram...Check each individual injector for a short to ground.

the coil pak is new .and still has old ignition control module oem .i'm thinking it run's from the same power line .fuse is taged as injector Unimpressed
