2001 Mazda B4000 taillight problem

The headlight,park and license plate lights all work but not the taillights.No blown fuses and no power at the bulbs.Truck has aftermarket trailer hitch installed by previous owner.

You'll have to look into the wiring back there. The license plate lights are fed by the same circuit as the tail lights so you do have power back there somewhere.

I would start with disconnecting any trailer wiring your don't need or at the least inspecting the wiring .
How did you test for power at the sockets?

I used a test light on the positive side of the socket.I had power for the brakes but none for the tail lights.I will be digging further into the problem this weekend and will post my findings.

I decided to tap into the taillight wiring of the trailer harness and now I have taillights.Thanks
