Wiring 3 wire alltinator!

I have a 76 jeep that now has a built 289 ford engine and we are having a problem with the alltinator. We have 3 wire's and assume that it is wired right but when not running the alltinator stays hot and drains the battery. Can someone please help me, I don't have much hair left!

TMK only one of those wires should have power when key if off. In that this is custom you are going to have to chase that down if not so. That alternator is cheap and may have a fault too. Just a thought, T
