I have a 1900 Chevy 1500. Recently my wipers slowly quit working. The truck has a delay wiper system but the motor I was given at the parts store did not have the right connector although they claimed it was for the delay system. I traded it for one without delay that had the right connector but now my wipers only work on high, will not park and the washer motor runs constantly. Where should I go from here. The part store claims regardless of whats on the column the connector dictates this model does not have delay. Before the problem started my wipers worked as they should with the delay option functiona

Arggh. Connector does show different for with or without "pulse" wipers. Washer motor is no doubt off of this pump but controlled when it can or can't work by the pump.

I say wrong pump or the circuit board that was a problem with the common ones with "pulse" or "delay" as you termed it was a problem on many later model years anyway.

That's the circuit board with a plug-in shown. If not exactly that plug it's wrong. This info could be wrong and my guess is once info gets into the parts look ups wrong it never gets out or corrected.

These things get rebuilt from broken ones and sometimes you get it back all nice and clean looking but has the same issue it was traded in for.

Wrong pump is my call and can be miss boxed as a returned core before you or who knows. Suks but try another or ask for a different brand. Parts outlets are not doing more than what shows for them and to sell parts not figure it out,

I went back to the auto parts store and looked at the wiper for a 91 model with delay. It had the connector I needed and works fine on my vehicle. I have no idea why a 91 motor was needed. Possibly a change was made mid year or was different in differnent manufacturing plants.

Well, seems like you've found the solution. Car maker sure do, do mid year changes and the parts listings don't always catch that.

Call this solved but do know it helps to know the month the vehicle was made listed on driver's door jam if still there or original. When all else fails and it sure does match up an old part that once worked with the next right at the counter. With rebuilt items it's a pest but keep the core till the replacement proves correct which is a pest and new isn't always a choice or correct eitherCrazy

Let me close this out as solved to keep it from getting spammed. You can ask any moderator to re-open it upon request.

Good luck with the fix, Tom
