Windshield wiper motor "Bad park" need some expert advice Sign In

So I had this problem where on an intermittent setting, my wiper blades would pause upright. I ordered a new motor used from the internet, was very skeptical because it was pretty cheap, but i installed it and it has the SAME problem. I dont think it would be the transmission arms or anything, but is there anything I could have done wrong to make this happen again? or did i just get unlucky and got another jank part with the same janky problem?

That Maserati has a control module that talks to the CIA and it needs special permission to operate correctly.

Maybe next time you might want to tell us what you're driving.

I don't know exactly what you changed when you changed the motor but the Control Module which is what you would have wanted to change, is probably sold separately from the motor.

Well I changed the whole motor and module, they come all as one part, I thought. But I figured that a wiper/blinker switch wouldn't cause that issue and it must have been the motor and module. Now I'm starting to wonder why the newly installed one has the same issue? I suppose it's rather probable that he same exact part has the same problem. I really don't k ow what to do next. Get a multimeter and test it? what should I get for voltage on the intermittent settings from the switch?

I'm going to emphasize, when i turn them off, they come back to the downward position, yet when I have it on an intermittent speed, it pauses in an upward position. would it still be the crank arm and the bracket??

How is that obvious that I'm suppose to go to the dealer?

And I checked the bracket and it's not bent. Should I still replace the bracket AND crank arm?

Because the dealer is the one that published the bulletin and the fix.
The dealer is the one that created the reworked parts to resolve the issue.
The dealer supplied their part numbers for the parts that will resolve the issue in their published bulletin.

Sounds pretty obvious to me.

Well I really would rather not go to the dealer. I inspected the tab on the motor support and it isn't bent. I ordered a new transmission crank arm, because I figure that's the only thing it could be at this point. But I'm no professional. What do you guys think?

Okay, so I replaced the transmission crank arm, but it still has the same issue. Although, before I put it on, I checked to make sure it worked properly, and it breaks away to go into the park position, unlike the old one that wouldn't budge, so there's a start. but when I install it, the wiper still pause upwards. Like I said the tab isn't BENT, but it does look worn down. Should I really order this 150+ dollar support bracket?! I dont want to drop the money on such an expensive part, so I want to know that this is really my last resort, really could use some help!

So it doesn't look bent, yet does look worn down? It would only wear down if it was hitting something, like something thats bent would do. Thats why the TSB didn't say go get a used one from some other car that has the same junk part. New is the only fix.

Re: Windshield wiper motor "Bad park" need some expert advice Sign In

I believe the tab is supposed to be bent in a way that the crank arm linkage comes around to stop on it. If the linkage has nothing there to stop on, it won't park in the right spot.
