Window Regulator or Rotor problem? Or both? (Pwr Windows 1995 Ford Probe) Sign In

I have a 1995 Probe, and the passenger side window went out on me. It was jerky before but it suddenly gave. I took the door panal off, and the wire pully is off the window, and the wires within the rotor are all tangled up.

So my question is, is it the entire regulator? Or can you fix the exisiting one? They are discontinued. And a Probe regulator runs 300$.

Is there any way to modify the existing regulator, and just buy a new rotor and re-assemble the wire/pully system already there?

Would that be the best option? Besides installing a completely new regulator.

May not be such an easy fix of old one. How about a used one - frequently will come complete with a motor too depending on how it's configured. At the high price for regulator alone new and this being a passenger's window I'd be even more inclinded to go used,

Ps: Can provide a place that sells them but better to get locally to save pack and ship costs.....

As far as I know there is no way to repair the regulator. Yoiu need to replace the entire part. As Tom mentioned, a salvage yard may have a good used one.
