Weird headlight problem with connector stuck Sign In

A few years ago, I bought angel eyes for my E36... and I guess the person that installed them did a piss poor job and so basically what happened was..

these wires got stripped from the connector head.. so the head got stuck inside this:

and now I can't get the head/connector out in order to reattach the cable.

Anyone know how to pop it out?.. It's too snug of a fit to use pliers on it.. so I'm stuck.. how would I reconnect the wire to that female connector?

Different looking but can you get replacement ends shown in the top pic and solder on new ones?

Re: Weird headlight problem with connector stuck Sign In

thanks for the quick reply..

I could do that but then the original head is still stuck inside the connector... I would need to get the original head/connector out first before I can do what you recommend.

I had a hard time as it is figuring out where to buy the head/connector. I don't even know what its called which made it even more difficult explaining it to the people at Kragen/AutoZone.

Ok: The whole socket comes out with the outer barbed ring - or it looks like it will. Then if you can get the broken off part out with it up close with a pic - make one out of a watch type srewdriver if you can't find or don't have something what will do. You can bend screwdriver heads to a right angle with just a propane torch.

Not sure just how this broke - can they be soldered up again? If you just got four non exact connectors that would go thru to where they need to contact that might do.

There's got to be a way to work with what you have I would think,
