Viper remote start does not work Sign In

Had a Viper Model 150ESP remote starter on a 1998 Chrysler Concorde, Removed & installed on a 2004 Concorde. Wiring harnesses are supposed to be and appear to be identical. Viper remote will open trunk, & start car if key is in ignition. If key is not in ignition, remote will start car, but will shut down in a few seconds. When pushing the door lock/unlock button on remote, audible clicking noise from Viper component, but no action on the door locks. Check engine light is on, and wipers cycle every couple of minutes. Reasonably sure unit is wired in correctly. Have wiring schematics of both cars, carefully attached unit wires to the appropriate wires on the 2004. Have disconnected positive battery cable to allow car to reset. No change. Does any one have an original installation book for the Viper 150ESP? Are we missing some important step or steps?

If these do share similar wiring then the Viper parts must be NG. Now you have wipers going, check engine light - how handy. Take the damn thing out and hope it didn't damage anything real expensive,

Re: Viper remote start does not work Sign In

as far as the starting and shutting down, the 04 is equipped with a transponder key security system, thats why if key is in ignition it will start. also as far as locks go, many of the newer (ie 00 and up) chryser corp vehicles used a resistance pulse to activate lock or unlock. and as far as wiper, something is not wired right, powering up wrong circuit.
i have been installing remote starts for the last 15 years.
