VW Jetta Strange wires in trunk/behind seats?

I was looking in my trunk today and seen some wires in coming out towards the back of the trunk and inside the back of the seat and was wondering what they were used for?

Those are aftermarket wires. Looks like the car had a stereo amp that got removed when you bought the car.
