My tail lights are staying on in my 1998 Subaru Impreza when car is shut off and caused new battery to go dead overnight. I was told it was the “brake light switch” from a Walmart employee who was charging the battery. When I pull the 20 amp fuse labeled 'stop' the lights stay on but when I pull a 10 amp fuse labeled 'tail clearance' the lights go out . Could this still be brake light switch? (Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated)

Welcome but please begin with a year, make and model please. Without any more info I'll guess there's some mess up with the center or high mounted brake light. Other question are...... Does this effect brake or running lights? Are brake lights red and separate amber running and turn signal lamps and lastly is this Maserati wired to tow trailers? T
