Switch to keep Crown Vic running w/o keys Sign In

This really isn't a problem, more like an option I would like to put on another car. I am a police officer in Missouri. We are getting ready to decommission the 1998 Crown Vic that I currently drive. It has a feature on it that I am wanting for my next CV, which will be a low-mileage 2003.

The car I have now has a small toggle switch on the dash. When the toggle is flipped up, I can turn the ignition off, pull the keys and the car stays running. That way I can leave it idling while the steering wheel and shifter stay locked. As soon as the switch is flipped down, the car dies unless the keys are back in the ignition and in the ON position.

I am wanting to transfer this feature over to a 2003 CV. Does anyone know which wire I should supply power to through this switch? Thanks for any help you may provide. And feel free to email any questions if I have left out any important information.

The wiring is possibly the same color and location. Go to www.autozone.com and look up the wiring for both years. Should be fairly easily done. All you will be doing is directing battery voltage to the ignition run circuit.

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
