I have a 2005 Saturn Vue with approximately 90,000 miles. About a month ago, smoke started billowing out of the steering wheel as I was driving down the road. All of my electrical systems went out one by one until the car went completely dead and now NOTHING. No lights. No sounds. No power. Just nothing at all.

Man, now you let all the smoke out. I don't know how you are going to get it all back in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Take my word ,,,,youll never get it all back in right. I see a trip to a salvage yard in your future. It would be a good idea to do a post -mortem on the old one to try and figure what shorted

Be careful working around that. You don't want the air bag going off in your face when your under there moving wires around. Make sure you disconnect the battery and disarm the system. Might be a good idea to remove the air bag before doing any column work. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
