Is kickstand up? Some cycles won't run with kickstand on down postion. True story: My boss back in the 70s left a kickstand down and flipped motorcycle over on a turn and died of it! I think leaving them down now disables the things..... Am thinking maybe the ignition switch or perhaps the starter is somehow taking too much juice. Frustrating. Thanks for the reply. OR - some old style things with points used a terminal for the spark while cranking routed current to whatever this generates spark from just for the time starter was going and then returned to a source thru a resistor when starter was released. It was called a ballast resistor in cars.
