Saturn SC2 1996 Starter Problem

Hey guys,
recently I've been having some troubles with my car. When I go to start it in the mornings when its cool, it starts without any problem. But when I come home, after driving it a while, I turn it off, and if i try to crank it back up it doesn't work. I normally have to wait 30 minutes, until the car is cool to start it.
This poses a problem in situations like when I'm at the gas station, I'm done pumping my gas in 5 minutes, but i have to wait 30 minutes for it to crank.
I think it is the starter or the starting cellenoud?

Do you mean it doesn't crank at all or any reaction to trying when warm?

The cillinoud clicks when its hot, today I dropped the starter.
I tested the signal purple signal wire with a test light, it worked every time the key was turned. I did some more research and concluded that it is a bad cillinoud.
When a cillinoud is exposed to heat, it increases the resistance on the conductors and doesn't get the power to the starter motor.
I could go with a mini starter and a remote cillinoud, but I don't have a lot of money. I figure, if the original starter has lasted this long on it... another one should last just as long.

You have one option.............. replace the whole starter.

Agree. Even if you asked for just a "cillinoud" or most call it a "solenoid" I doubt that is the problem. Check condition of wires there and clean them up as well with new starter,

Smile sport. I use a spell check program off of this site that with your spelling could have sent you to liposuction for cellulite (body fat) but need to know at least close if you know how those programs work.
No matter now. This being heat related, starter apparently getting power which passes thru solenoid AND throws the drive gear (probably the click but can't be sure) then can work cold suggests weak starter motor itself. Replacement would come with a new solenoid on top of it and they can be done separately.
Could this diagnosis be wrong? Yes - about any could but odds are great. Testing this off car would be cold again no doubt so wouldn't prove much IMO.
Unless this is fooled by a "tight" engine usually from being too hot as in WAY too hot this would be the least of your troubles.
Long retired. Hope this isn't a total PITA to just remove and replace and again it's the chance to really clean up the connections to that solenoid. I will smear high temp tolerant + waterproof grease on those as much of that type stuff will even come apart to clean without snapping the studs off where they connect. You may need cables now or sometime and be happy if nothing breaks there or anywhere,

I got it on, It wasn't as much trouble as getting the old one off at least. Front wheel drive engine compartments are sooo cramped.
The new (or rather remanufactured) starter and solenoid worked great cold. I guess the real test is going to be, cranking it hot after I turn it off tomorrow morning at school... We shall see...
