Ok, so I really know VERY little about cars so bear with me. I have a 91 Honda Accord. Battery light came on and I was not anywhere where I could stop. On my way home and it died on me. Bought a new battery, replaced it. Worked. Later on Battery light came on and my car was being really funky. My headlights came on, but my speedometer and gas gauge would not move at all. Tried it couple days later and would not start. It would try, but would not. Where do I go from here besides taking it to a shop. Oh i also checked the belt on the alternator and it was fine.

Charge that battery now as I think it's dead and cold weather if applicable is real bad on a dead battery. When charged just note the voltage right at the battery or if you have a gauge that you trust look hard. When running it should be reading 13.8 to 14.5 or so volts - bet it isn't. It should be able to do that with lights on too. You said you weren't real mechanical but you should own a cheap multimeter. Under 10 bucks at WallyWorld and other places and you can use it at home too. More often than not this would need a new alternator if that battery is once again discharged with a good belt working, T
