I have a 1998 B4000 with a rather strange turn signal problem: the turn signals work until I apply the brakes. The signals blink fine until I apply the brakes...when I let off of the brakes...the signal comes back on. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a problem with the wiring. It seems that your brakes and indicators are sharing a circuit somehow. Turn signals runs fine until the current from the brake pressure is applied and they stop. You have a bare wire hanging out somewhere or the connection to either brake lights or indicators is loose and making contact. Get your mechanic to run a continuity test on your wiring. This is a hard one as the fault could be anywhere in the wiring.

Hey Doc - Good to see you back at it!

For the wiring thing - if this is wired for a trailer check all those connections and the plug. Many are just hacked into wiring back there and cause issues down the road - like now unfortunately,

Are the turn signals amber in the back, or do they share the same bulb as the brake lamp?
