Random lights come on when car parked

1998 Jeep Cherokee about 180,000 miles, after parking the car at random time any combination of lights can come on and stay on until the battery is drained, last night it was the backup lights that came on 4 hrs after the car was parked. Two days before that the running lights stayed on all night until the battery was drained. please help, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I went to the dealer and he said it would cost a lot of money to figure out what was wrong.

Like the dealership told you; yes it’ll take some time to confirm what is going on. That being said it’s likely the Body Control Module (BCM) that is getting a false signal to turn these lights on or the BCM itself is doing this on its own?
