Hi,
I have a Ford Taurus from November 1992.Few days ago my radiator fan was burning. I replaced it, but fan is working only when I use A/C or I disconnect the coolant temperature sensor (working all the time but check engine is on).Checked fuse number 9 is ok, replaced CMR (control module relay) no result. Any Ideas, please?

Re: Radiator fan Sign In

Are you allowing the engine too reach a temperature where the computer will turn the cooling fan on?
The computer will only turn the fan on low speed after the engine reaches 220-degree and then too high speed if the temperature reaches 230-degree.
Dan.

Yes, I waited until indicator went very closed to red point (hot). After that I started a/c and engine begun to cool.

Re: Radiator fan Sign In

Thanks.

I spent $40 to put the car on a computer and at exactly 220 the fan is starting, but the problem is when fun is starting my on board indicator is somewhere to red point(hot), and I never waited to have the indicator this position, so I will drive with a/c started.

It certainly is good that you are paying attention to this. Just a thought that maybe a gauge is reading too high and it's really not. Just as a wild try I might toss out the sensor as the car only knows what it's told and info may be wrong or off some, T
