Power door locks stopped working Honda CRV 1997 Sign In

Hello, I have a 1997 Honda CRV, and the power door locks unexpectedly stopped working.

Rewind a few months ago, I bought a keyless remote online. I programmed the thing, but in the end it would only unlock all the doors, not lock them. So I said, screw it, I'll live without it, and sent it back.

Fast forward to a few days ago, I tried to lock the doors with the power switch, like I usually do, and nothing happened. They wouldn't lock or unlock. A few hours later, they worked again, but it was a very short recovery. The switch has only worked once in the last few days, where it momentarily unlocked the doors, but when I immediately tried to lock them, it was unresponsive again.

I have left the trunk light on a couple of times the last couple months, but it was never for longer than a day. We're also having some dry air here in TX, lots of static electricity in the air. I've been shocking myself silly on the frame of the car the last few days, so since they both started happening around the same time, I was wondering if the static electricity in the air could somehow be affecting the locks.

TIA. Very frustrating as I have a 9 month old and lots of necessities strewn over all the seats. Very difficult to open all the doors and lock them individually or check to make sure they're locked with a 20 lb bowling ball with a constantly changing center of gravity in my arm :)
