"Park" fuse blows when I push in the clutch Sign In

I have a 1996 Saturn SL, 4 Cyl. with about 120k miles on it.

Last night, my Instrument Panel and running lights went out. Found a blown fuse ("Park" 10 Amp). Replaced, and it blew again. Narrowed it down to the fuse blowing when I push in the clutch. Theres a micro-switch the clutch presses against, I'm guessing it has multiple functions, one being the starter. Could a bad micro-switch be the cause? I sure hope so:)

Anyways, thanks for any help/suggestions.

You could disconnect the wires going to the clutch inhibitor switch and give it a try; Of course, it won't start with those wires disconnected, but may answer your question.Unimpressed Ooops. Just re-read your post. Your instrument panel and running lamps go out when you push in the clutch? Hmmmm. Can't see the correllation, there. Interesting.
Well, you can still do the above to isolate the inhibitor switch, but...Maybe, Dr.Electric will see your post and have a better suggestion? Good luck.
