Hello! I have a 1995 buick Regal, its the custom model, 3.8L V6. It seems that my brake lights cut out if i bump my turn signal lever. While signals are on, i have NO brake lights? What could cause this? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Is this happening to all 3 brakes lights or just the 2 lower ones?

The top bulb has been burned out for awhile, so i dont know if that is cutting out as well. I am replacing all bulbs that are burned out today, (seems one light on each taillight is burned out)

You most likely have a bad combination switch. It will only effect the 2 lower lights but they run through it so the turn signals can cancel out the brake lights when necessary.

Yes, that's the turn signal switch. I thought this one use a Combo switch for that but it doesn't.

You will need some special tools for pulling the steering wheel and the lock plate though. If it's a tilt wheel, it's much harder.

You were right!! I replaced all the burnt out bulbs, and yes, only the two lower brake lights cut out while moving the signal switch, the top brake light works fine! so it must be the turn signal switch like you said, i will get it replaced! im sure just troubleshooting the short should save me some money if i have to have it installed. Anyway, thanks for all your help!!

I'm pretty confident that's your problem.
