One brake light fails only when lights are on Sign In

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee , 4.0, automatic, 4WD,119,000 miles. It has remote keyless entry and automatic headlight features. We had an aftermarket remote start kit installed in 2005 at Best Buy. I think it was a Viper kit with a logic module. Here's my problem: With the light switch in the Off position, all the brakes lights work normally. With the light switch in the On position, both tail lights work normally, but the passenger side goes out when the brakes are applied, no tail or brake light. The driver side brake light works normally. I have already tried replacing the bulb and socket. It didn't help. Any idea what I could try next?

Doubt this is anything with the alarm. Probably has a two filament bulb - one dimmer for running lights and bright for brakes and turn signals. Good guess is grounding isn't enough for the higher draw for the brighter filament so check that any grounds, connections are really good - not just by looks,
