I have a 92 Chrysler LeBaron, 3L V6 engine, and my odometer stopped working randomly. Previous to the complete death of the odometer, it would work sometimes and then not work and then it would only go up to 20 miles. Then, nothing. The car is permantently at 146666 miles. I am pretty car illiterate so I have no idea on how to fix this problem and anything that might work I am willing to give a go.

Duralast / Vehicle Speed Sensor SU3105 This is the most common cause. Of course, it could be the speedometer head in the instrument cluster, as well. Usually, if the speed sensor (VSS) has a problem, it will also affect transmission shifting if it's an automatic. Just read your other post. If you are having water problems in the dash, this could be affecting the VSS as well. Sounds like it's time to pull the instrument cluster and take a look. Loren SW Washington

Like I said in one of my posts, I am one of the most car illiterate people there is. Can you explain how I might do that. The person I bought the car from had lost the owners guide long before I got the car so I cant even look it up.

Milla; We don't know if it is the VSS, yet. If you are going to do this yourself, probably should buy a repair manual for that specific vehicle. The speed sensor is mounted on the transmission. Loren SW Washington
