O/D Off Light Blinking In a 2000 Mazda Protege

Awhile back the overdrive light off light started blinking in my car..(2000 Mazda protege DX). The Tranny doesn't shift well at all.. i replaced the filter and tranny fluid but no luck... i was told it could be the shift solenid... did any one ever experience this, and actually fix it???? any info will be greatly appreciated...

The flashing overdrive light just means that the Control module has recorded a malfunction and stored a trouble code to identify what it saw much like a Check engine Light except you can't read it with a cheap code reader. It will require a professional scan tool. Your not going to be able to identify the problem until you have the code.
