The truck would have to be towed to the dealer to program the PCM before it could run anyway. You can just throw one in there.

Have you pulled codes on this yet?
You'll probably have to clear everything first and then check for codes after trying to start it.

When I first had it towed home it gave me codes for lean on bank 2 and misfire on a cylinder. now it can't find any codes (assuming because I took off battery)

That would be correct but if you have no cam sensor signal, it will set a new code as soon as you attempt to start it.
You didn't change the position of that sensor, did you?
If you have a scan tool, crank tghe engine and see if there is an RPM registered.

no, I haven't changed it's position. It never sent a code when I've attempted to start it.

I ran the scan tool while turning the van over and nothing showed up on the scan tool.
My scan tool is a cheap and basic Innova 3030, do the cheap ones check for RPM?

No, I don't believe it reads rpm. Should I go buy a camshaft sensor and see if that works?

No, I think you should spend the money on a qualified diagnostic tech and let him diagnose it for you. This has become something you're not equipped for.
