No daytime running lights or high beams Sign In

My kid has a 1999 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 with 157,000 miles that has no bright lights or daytime running lights. The bright light indicator light on dash apparently is not working either nor is there any light indicating drl issue. When I hit the bright light switch, the lights go out.

My brother changed switch w/cruise control on steering column and has tested all connections with probe.

We have hopefully deduced it to being the drl switch/relay but we can't find it anywhere. Where is it?

Have found some info in one of his manuals about it being in back of the front impact bar (I think that's what it was called). Where is that at?

Any help is REALLY appreciated!

Edit:
Sheesh!
What a great forum!! Posted almost 12 hours ago, with 10 hits and not even a single stab in the dark reply!!

Posted this question on a totally non automotive forum, but one that has a ton of knowledgeable people, just a couple hours ago and have gotten 16 replies!!

I bet I get a reply now, although I will not be back!!

C-ya!!

Yea that's the problem with these slackers that call themselves mods......

These knuckleheads actually work on cars in shops during the day!!!!! Can you believe that???? What a bunch of losers....working for a living...Now I've heard it all....I swear.

This is a common problem on those so I'm sure that other fourm will get ya going in no time... These Moes don't deserve you as a member,,,I wouldn't come back either if I was you...... ^5

Sure glad I didn't waste any of my time uploading a system schematic for this..... That would've been all for not.......

LOL.........yeah, lets see how accurate those responses were on the "non-automotive_ forum. Let's see how much money you waste on parts you didn't need.

One thing you might want to remember in the future............. Don't insult the people that your asking for help.
