Ok, so let me give you all the details that way we have no questions. i have an 89 camaro rs 2.8L v6 multi-port FI with a 5 speed transmission. i traded the car about a month ago, and on the way home the car just died. the tach dropped to zero and the car rolled to a stop. after waiting about 30 mins or so, it started back up. i had this problem about 3 times on the way home. i finally got home and didnt mess with it untill the next day. i tried it the next day and it started right up, but after about 30 mins (normail operating temp) it died again. i replaced the O2 sensor and the Ignition coil and i checked the ignition module and it is fine. but i still had the same problem. now the car wont even start. it just rolls over. i check for spark from the coil and the dist. and i'm not getting one from either?? i think it might be the dist. but i dont want to spend a lot of money on something if i dont know for sure that is what it is. does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? all comments will be greatly appreciated! thank you!

How did you check the ign module? (black thingy inside dist) That's the likely problem for this in that vintage with your symptoms,

This is somewhat easy to narrow down. Check for voltage coming into the distributor through the plug and if no voltage your problem lies before the distributor. How did you test the control module? This is most likely the problem. I had one tested and they said it was good but it ended up being bad. If it is not too expensive start there. Check the coil and pickup coil. Make sure all your grounds are good, a bad ground can lead to voltage punch through in turn ruining the coil and cap+rotor. No fun.. good luck!
