New car alarm draining battery?

Hello everyone. After my car got broken into for the second time in a few years, I decided it was time to spring for a car alarm. I drive a '98 Hyundai Tiburon with about 100,000 miles on it and the alarm I got was a Viper 5900.
Let me take you a few weeks back before the break in to give you the full story. One day a few weeks before the break in my car wouldn't start. Triple-A came to jump it and after a trip to my local Auto Zone, I found out it was a bad battery so a new one was immediately purchased and installed. Everything was fine until a few weeks later when my stereo was ripped out of my car and stolen along with my GPS (which was hiding my glove compartment). So back to the idea of getting an alarm.
After purchasing the alarm/remote start and having it professionally installed at my local Best Buy, everything was fine until about a week later. I went out to run some errands and the car started fine. But about 30 min later when I tried to start the car again, it was dead. Completely dead. It wouldn't even crank a little bit. I didn't even think it was the battery since I had just purchased a new one, but I still tried to jump it and it worked to my surprise. After I jumped it, I went straight back to Auto Zone to get the battery and alternator checked out and they were working fine. The car was running fine for about another week until Sunday. I went to work and the car started fine. When I came out of work, same problem. It was dead again. After another jump, it started again. Now, the problem is getting worse. Instead of working for about a week before it dies again, it happened again last night. I leave and the car starts. I try to start it and it's dead. It's really starting to put a strain on me.
The only conclusion I can come to is that it has to be something with the alarm/remote start I had installed. Has anyone had a similar problem or heard of alarms/remote starts draining the battery? Do I need a more powerful battery or anything like that? Or could it simply be an electrical problem that was caused by poor installation? Should I take it back to the Best Buy installation people to look at it or an auto shop? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot everyone.

Sorry for the troubles but this is tough with the history. What's up with the radio? Was that cut right out messing up wiring then and how did you fix that?
You may have needed a battery - no problem with that alone but there's more to check than your average problem here. It really needs to be checked for a drain that can kill the battery which may or may not have been there before the radio got "ripped" out or an aftermarket alarm put in - that could be the trouble too.
Tough call. Even a new battery might have issues and the AutoZone check of battery and alternator should be redone. Get someone to check for residual drain of power if battery and so forth check out again.
Go back to whoever installed the alarm and or the radio as either are on the maybe list along with whatever got wrecked in taking the radio if not fixed completely??
