This is in reference to the Neutral Safety Switch on My 03' Silverado 1500 4.8L 4X4. I just recently replaced the connectors as they had melted and wires had snapped! Problem I am having is that the new switch has 7 leads, as opposed to the 6 on the origional! The 7th slot on the origional was capped off with rubber! I am wondering what that 7th lead is for? Does anyone know???

Doesn't really matter IMO - you should get exact fit parts,

The lead that is capped off on C2 PIN A is for the Allison transmission's park/neutral signal. You may have the wrong switch. AC Delco number for your switch is D2263C. Make sure you cap off that cavity on your new connector pigtail, so you don't get water intrusion.
