Need to put alarm in 96 Mazda Protege Sign In

Hey all,

I want to put an alarm system in my Protege. Problem is that I got manual locks. I know nearly squat about cars but a decent amount about electronics in general. With that in mind, think I could install a system myself? If so I could use some recommendations. And need to know how to install with manual locks. A price range would be nice too.

Thanks.

It wouldn't install any differently. You just wouldn't hook up the door lock wire because there will be nothing to hook it to.

With that in mind, would the alarm still sound if the door was opened?

Yes, it would. It's triggered but the interior lights and the door jam switch. You just won't have the keyless entry part of the system.
